Hobart City Council's Making Tracks newsletter (March 2022) reports that work is progressing well on the construction of four new mountain bike trails on the lower slopes of kunanyi/Mt Wellington as part of stage one of the City’s Riding the Mountain plan.
The newsletter reports that work is almost complete on the Upper Luge and the new dedicated climbing track beside it, with plans to open the new tracks soon.
Contractors (Next Level Mountain Bike) have now moved onto the construction of Rocky Wheel’n and Free Wheel’n trails which will finally establish a long needed riding link from the Bracken Lane area to the Springs.
