Maydena Mountain Bike Park and the Tin Valley Brewery and Distillery are among the winners in the latest round of Tourism Innovation Grants provided by the State Government.
Maydena will be receiving $249,950 for a 'Beyond the Bikes' initative which will allow Maydena Bike Park's facilities to be diversified to cater to for a more generic visitor audience. This will ensure a better experience for the park's first global mountain bike event next year (Enduro World Series).
In an article on the grant's in The Mercury newspaper (27 November 2022), the bike park's managing director, Simon French, described the grant as a "real game-changer", saying it would allow the business to develop a network of walking trails, as well as a new restaurant and commercial kitchen.
The other mountain bike related winner, was the Tin Valley Brewery and Distillery which was awarded a grant of $300,000. The formal webpage says this will be for a brewery, distillery and gin lounge situated on one of the trails in the Blue Derby Mountain Bike Network that will provide a focal point for groups of riders and non-riders alike to come together for a shared experience.
